I’m so happy you’re here

Hi, Friend! I’m Kisha, the creator behind Phonics to Fluency. I’m a former classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and online educator who cares deeply about classroom flow, student emotions, and building strong early readers. I started this store during Covid as a way to pour my energy into something creative, meaningful, and helpful for teachers. What began as a distraction grew into a place where I get to support you with tools that make teaching a little lighter and a lot more joyful.

how I got here

I graduated from Coastal Carolina University (chants up!) with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2012, and later returned for my master’s degree in Instructional Technology, finishing in December 2015. I also hold an online teaching certification from Coastal, TESOL certification, and I’m a South Carolina Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher.

I spent five years in a traditional classroom teaching 3rd and 5th grade, followed by three years as a reading interventionist. From 2016 to 2020, I shifted into online ESL and reading tutoring while raising my children. No matter the setting, my strengths were always classroom management, building strong relationships, and helping kids grow as readers.

why i do this

My love for reading started early — books were always my safe place, my escape, and my spark. Creating phonics, reading, and writing resources feels like giving that same spark to the next generation. I want kids to feel excited about stories, confident with words, and supported with routines that help them learn. And I want teachers like you to have simple, reliable tools that make your day smoother and your students shine.
